Another year is coming to an end !

We can look back at a wonderful  and fantastic 2009, after a remarkable beginning. The past year we enjoyed our dogs a lot and the many new friends we met on show and elsewhere, both here and abroad.  The support we received, often unexpected, was appreciated very much and strenghtens us to proceed the way we do.

On show this year we had some unbelievable achievements. Wallace becoming 4th in the heavy Undergraduate Class at Crufts was fabulous. Storm gaining his Luxembourg, German and International Show Championship and gaining many CAC(IB)’s  was the topping on the ice. Furthermore we gained CAC(IB)’s with Iona in Leeuwarden and with Wallace in Mechelen.

The biggest joy is however seeing our puppies becoming beautiful youngsters. In 2010 we hope to show some of them with success. All the other puppies going to fine chosen pethomes feels good.

After having had her first litter, Abby is ready again to go into the fields and pick up training. We have some goals to achieve with her this year, because she loves training so much.

Happy we are, that the also by us newly founded Labrador Retriever Club Nederland had such a good start. After the foundation in april many breeders and friends of the Labrador joined the club to become an official FCI Breedclub soon. Good to know that breeders have some things to say again about their own beloved breed. Breeders off course are the basis of the breed and responsible for the continued existence. Some other breedclubs seem to forget about that or forgot about that a long time ago.

Above all, we wish you all a Merry Christmas and a very Happy and succesfull 2010 !!

Marion & John, kids and all the labs

International Dogshow Bleiswijk 7-11-2009

Iona (Tullochmohr Shining On) came along after quite a while. She always enjoys the day out a lot en looks very sad when seeing the others leave, This time it was only Iona, so a very special day to her.She doesn't care a bit for the results though ..

After all, she did a great job again by gaining second place in open class and becoming Reserve International Champion (RCACIB)

Well done handsome !

International Dogshow Hannover 1-11-2009

Denis de Scampy did great again last Sunday

At the International Dogshow in Hannover he gained his 6th CACIB and his 13th CAC. Well done Storm !

Wallace got 3th place in open class

Our boys make us very proud again

A new beginning - a new website

Molly's Mountain and Fairywood's became one, so ..

It took a while, but seeing the new website you can imagine why !

So much creativity, complex backgrounds and still simple to maintain

Thank you so much dear An, we know you put your soul into this. Please visit An's website to see her other creations and to enjoy her Labradors too

Arleen's pups are born - "It's a Man's World"

22-10-2009 - Who could have guessed ?!

After very quick delivery we counted 9 males,
4 brown and 5 black

The photoalbum has been made up to date

A new experience for us to have puppies born during the daytime. Up until now we always trusted on the fact that the puppies are born at night

Also this very first Mollywoods litter feels very very special ! We are so proud at Arleen and Laszlo, they did a fine job !

One black male has problems right from the start, looking perhaps just a little too premature. He is in the incubator, getting al the care we can give him.
We fear for the worst and keep you posted ..

From the litter from Abby one girl suddenly died, just like that ..

The other 5 do very well though, some of them being almost 1 kilo already !

The new life !

What can be more beautiful?

For this opportunity we installed a photoalbum

Abby gave birth to 6 wonderful puppies in the night from sunday to monday 19-10-2009. It is clear that Wallace is the one and only dad, colour does not lie !

This last Fairywoods litter does feel very special to us!

Very soon we shall have more info and a beautiful photo-album

Now we move on to the pups from Arleen, to be born today or tomorrow ..

13-10-2009 - Abby and Arleen getting very heavy,
but happy as ever

The two first time to be mothers are doing very well,
just a few more days to go

Clanross Rollercoaster to Mollymount
makes us proud again

Wallace did very well at the International Dogshow in Zwolle at 4-10-2009
At first he won a big and very competitive open class
After that he became Reserve Champion !

16-9-2009 Storm and Wallace EIC tested and free

Always a bit scary. Another new test ...

Anyhow, we are extremely happy our two men are
both found free of EIC

Don't know what EIC is ? Read about it here

15-9-2009 Puppy update

Today was sonarday with the three ladies

Left Abby's sonar, she is packed with puppies. Right Arleen's sonar, also a filled belly. Iona was empty this time. No problem, better luck with Quincy next time.

Fairywood's L'Etoile St. Sylvestre seems to come in season shortly, so she shall be mated a little earlier than expected

The puppy page is therefore slightly changed

At the moment we can not handle any more puppy requests for both upcoming litters due to the high number of requests. Also the upcoming litters from Etoile and Demi are already more than overbooked

You can subscribe for the two upcoming litters in 2010 from Iona and Diva on a very limited scale however

12 en 13-9-2009 Show in Leipzig

Denis de Scampy did it again!

German Champion VDH
Rassebester Nationale Ausstellung Leipzig 2009
VDH-Sieger Leipzig 2009
3 new titles in the same weekend

Very special thanks to the fine judges this weekend, Mr. Petr Studeník (CZ) with Marion and Storm on the picture above, judging the National show on Saturday, and Mrs. Gisela Werner (GER), judging the CACIB show on Sunday.

Very special thanks also to Mr. Zidar, judging the group (gundogs). He placed Storm second, quite special for a Labrador!

After becoming Luxembourg and International Show Champion last weekend, Storm gained another 3 titles in Leipzig. This must be a record for any showlabrador for sure, 5 titles in just 7 days !

We are very proud to be able to love and own him. Storm is not only a beautiful dog in the showring, but also very easygoing as a housedog, with one of the loveliest caracters seen in Labrador.

We are most happy for his breeder Manuel Zubiria Aznar, whom we know is especially proud.

We would almost forget that Wallace and Emme were also in Leipzig and did really great. We are extremely proud at them too.

Denis de Scampy the best in Weeze (D) 9-8-2009

Storm became best Labrador at the Retriever show in a fairytale environment nearby the castle in Weeze (Germany). Judge Mr. J. Pigal from France could not hide a big smile when he saw our wonderful man. He wrote the following report about him:

"Very very good modeled, very pretty head and expression, very good chest, very good angulation in front and rear, good loin. Very straight topline, good tailset, very good movement" BOB (Best of Breed)

Storm, young as he is, has an impressive list of honour already, having won 9 CC's and 5 BOB's. But above all he is a wonderful and enjoyable dog with the most loveliest of caracters, who we would not like to mis for a million dollars !!

Thanks for having so much fun with us to all of you.

Molly and Angus can be proud and so can we !

A wonderful day, nice people, lovely dogs and everybody crazy about his dog, more than wonderful to see. A meeting also means meeting each other and off course judging the puppies

"Nice head and expression, excellent reach of neck, topline and tailset. Good chest and forechest, strong loins. Well angulated behind, sound mover, excellent coat."

judge: Mr. Peter F. Berchtold

What a nice day we had ! Never before we had so much fun at the clubmatch, with that many friends and lovely labs. We scored above expectation with our champions and adults, but we are most proud at our youngest generation which is very promising and coming up strong. All of them at least excellent, most of them placed in very large classes. Some of them left at home because of bad coats. Thanks to all our friends who helped out in showing all the labs, which wasn't easy. Thanks Martine and Rini Heijnen, Anita Jonkers, Ina Haspels and Ilona Schapers for being such a good team with us. Thanks to the kids for supporting us so much !

But ...... the most nice and stunning thing we experienced was after we arrived home. One of our dearest friends, very pleased with the dog they got from us, showed us their appreciation by bringing us this lovely present, two concrete, lovely looking labradors. The bigger one weighing more than 100 kgs!

Fairywood's L'Etoile St. Sylvestre - 3th place champions class (of 5)

Etoile looked stunning after her two litters.

Tullochmohr Shining On
3th place open class (of 72 !!)

Iona loved her time in the showring, she is our one and only showgirl !!

"Strongly built black bitch who has many qualities. I would like her slightly more feminin. Excellent neck, well made body, typical tail, in good coat, slightly soft in topline, moving soundly"

Judge: Mr. Per Iversen

Fairywood's Statue of Liberty
2nd place baby class (of 32 !!)

Libby looking just like her mother, having all the best from her father !! We are so happy with this lovely little heartbreaker. Her lovely litter sisters Zelda and Cato got excellent and 7th place.

"Another nice black puppy, sweet head and expression. Stop has to develop a little, good neck placed into well layed shoulders. Good brisket. Level topline, tight feet. Enough of quarters, great coat and tail. Moved well for her age"

Judge: Mrs. Lorna Blackie

Fairywood's Mailly
3th place puppy class (of 38 !!)

May is quality all over !! She looks exactly like her mother already, in a chocolate version.

"This is a quality chocolate. She has a good neck and shoulder. Good eye color for coat. She's well of bone she has depth to her body, carries a level topline and flews into wide strong quarters. She is one of the few to move a purpose for drive."

Judge: Mrs. Lorna Blackie

Singleton of Molly's Mountain
7th place in puppy class (of 25 !!)

Ollie did not know he was showing of. He was only interested in all the rest, hahaha. But he did great nevertheless. Ollie is loved and owned by Herman and Sera Wester.

"Yellow puppy, a bit heavy in skull, good pigmentation. Nice reach of neck, correct angulations. A bit long in loin, sound mover."

Judge: Mr. Peter F. Berchtold

We are so happy Faith is in the right hands with you Antonio and your lovely wife Gerardina.

Faith succesfully passed her eaxams for the "Wesentest", many congratulations with that !!

In German language they wrote about her:

Wesensbeurteilung:

Negative associations towards the Fairywood's name and a bad and unhealty taste in our mouth considering the name, made us decide to join Molly's Mountain and Fairywood's into the new name of Mollywood's.

Wonderful rib and forechest, strong through couplings and super quarters and stifle. Topped off with correct coat and otter tail. Moves free, easy and with drive."

31-3-2009 All puppies finally identified !

You think you've had it all !! Half an hour before your lovely litter of puppies would be identified by the Kennelclub, the staffmember calls that it's not going to happen today ! The Fairywood's former owner seized some of our dogs and a litter of puppies and also involved the Kennelclub not to identify the puppies. The Kennelclub, apparently not knowing what they were doing, choose side, which occured very strange at that time for an independant club. A heartless action from all the ones involved in this, fighting over the backs of helpless little puppies !

Man, we are so happy and proud with all the new owners of these puppies, who had lots of patience and showed lots of love and care for their puppies during this sad situation. Finally when there was a go for the identification, and it almost went wrong but didn't at the last moment, the pups were identified the 31st of March at the age of almost 9 weeks. And, after all, it was a very pleasant and cosy day also, with lovely weather. Afterwards coffee and cake and everybody went home with satisfaction.

Again we thank you all a thousand times you lovely people, for your patience and your compassion. Lots, lots and lots of luck with your puppies:

On day 2 Etoile becomes 4th in champions class, at the World Dog Show she scores an excellent.

The journey from and to Stockholm, our stay at the "campingplace" and the adventures at the showgrounds made this trip an unforgetable one !!

As proud as a peacock, that's what we are ...

22.6.2008 Dutch Labrador championship clubmatch 2008

Fairywood's L'Etoile St. Sylvestre

Etoile is a remarkable, once in a lifetime labrador. Today she won the NLV Clubmatch and the titel "Clubwinner 2008". Winning for the third time in a row! More than 500 labradors were present today. We can not express how special she is with just words.

But Etoile winning was only the top of the iceberg.

Denis de Scampy

After being best of breed in Wijchen 16.12.2007 and gaining his first full point for the Dutch Championship title it took a while before Storm really got the momentum. From the 25th of May (Bennekom, Gundog Show) on through Hulten at the 15th of June and today at the clubmatch, Storm gained another 4 full points in only 28 days, to become Dutch Champion with 5 1/4 points. It was a delight to see him compete against Etoile for best of breed today. They both looked so marvelous !!

Etoile herself was very proud today, as we were too, at her excellent offspring:

Fairywood's Ursa Minor
best puppy bitch

Judges Mrs. R. Lochs-Romans and Mr. M. Givan

Mum Etoile and the above whole litter also won the litter class
Judge Mrs. P. Razera-Brulin

And also excellent results for:

Clanross Rollercoaster to Mollymount
excellent junior class - Judge Mrs. F. Braddon

Carpenny Amaranthe at Mollymount
excellent junior class - Judge Mrs. A. Hancock

Dwynwen of Molly's Mountain
excellent junior class - Judge Mrs. A. Hancock

Many thanks to all to judges and the clubmatch commision for making this day possible.

Special thanks to all our supporters today and our great, great helpers and handlers:

Martine Heijnen, Ina Haspels, and Amy Haesakkers, we could not have done this without you !
